Culture GeekEn 2006, Sony comptait sortir un jeu Ratchet & Clank sur mobile qui avait pour nom : Clone Home. Le développement avait déjà commencé et était à un stade plutôt avancé, seulement, depuis, plus rien. Le projet a été annulé en cours de route. Mais après 20 ans sans nouvelle, on a enfin pu mettre la main sur le jeu !

Vous aimez la franchise Ratchet & Clank ? Et bien un nouveau jeu mobile vieux de 20 ans vient d’être retrouvé ! Après un développement déjà en phase avancée, puis une annulation précoce, ce fameux Ratchet & Clank : Clone Home sur mobile a disparu des radars pendant près de deux décennies. Mais désormais, c’est bon, nous savons ce qu’il en est !
Ratchet & Clank : Clone Home enfin de retour !
Et oui c’est bel et bien vrai, nous venons enfin de mettre la main sur le fameux jeu mobile Ratchet & Clank : Clone Home prévu initialement pour 2006. À l’époque, les développeurs l’avaient discrètement annulé avant qu’il ne tombe totalement dans l’oubli… Enfin, pas pour ses plus grands fans.
En 2006, ce jeu développé par Handheld Games avait malheureusement dû être avorté pour des raisons qui restent floues pour le moment mais qui suggèrent tout de même quelques pistes. La plus probable serait une complication contractuelle entre Sony et Handheld Games qui a très certainement joué un rôle décisif. D’après certains, ils écartent la piste d’une annulation créative, le développement du jeu étant déjà très avancé et presque achevé.
En somme, depuis cette annulation, nous n’avons que des brèves captures d’écran du jeu, mais rien de concret. Or, aujourd’hui, nous avons mis la main sur le jeu proche de sa version définitive, prêt à l’emploi, et on vous l’assure, pour l’époque c’était génial !
Un travail d’orfèvre
Après deux décennies sans nouvelles, on ne pouvait compter que sur une seule communauté pour retrouver ce jeu perdu : les speedrunners et les moddeurs. Après de nombreuses années de recherches, ça y est, cette communauté et les fans ont enfin réussi à remettre la main sur cette histoire presque devenue un mythe.
Mais alors comment ont-ils fait ? Et bien tout simplement en retrouvant un téléphone portable datant de 2004 qui contenait miraculeusement tous les fichiers cryptés du jeu. Suite à ça, toute la communauté s’est penchée sur le sujet afin de décrypter toutes ces données, et donc nous voilà maintenant avec une version de Ratchet & Clank : Clone Home intacte !
En bref, c’est un véritable petit miracle pour la communauté du jeu ! Ratchet & Clank : Clone Home refait surface après vingt ans d’oubli, pour le plus grand bonheur des nostalgiques et des curieux. Une belle preuve que dans le jeu vidéo, rien ne disparaît jamais vraiment… Il suffit seulement d’un fan passionné et motivé pour rallumer la flamme.
